Maison Citadelle is located in the beautiful nature reserve Cevennes, on the border of the Gard Provençal and South Ardèche.
This exclusive property guarantees comfort and diversity in all areas. In the rustic spaces you will be stimulated and invited to enjoy culinary dishes, while enjoying a good wine, reading a nice book, or listening to beautiful music.
The garden, spread over different levels, also offers opportunities for relaxation. Each terrace is special for its own atmosphere, temperature and pleasant facilities. You can think of areas with natural shade, or places for sun lovers.
The area offers various options: from walking and cycling trips with beautiful views, culinary restaurants and city trips, to visiting the many romantic villages.

COMFORT
Front and back.
Maison Citadelle guarantees comfort. The industrial home with no less than 3 meters high windows, fireplace, underfloor heating and a view of the colorfully grown garden, has been architecturally decorated.
The house is divided into a front and back house, where the front house is furnished as a lounge / sitting area with the fireplace and where the back house offers space for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. In the back house you will also find a mezzanine, which offers opportunities for
relaxation in various areas. There is a nice seat where you can enjoy a nice book from the collection. You can also enjoy fine music thanks to the special acoustics in the house. There is a qualitative audio installation (with internet radio) present. There is a grand piano available for piano music lovers and practitioners.
Both in the back house and on the mezzanine are also two pleasant desks for those who combine the stay with some work. The digital infrastructure is available for this. From the mezzanine you can reach the (top) garden with the various terraces via a walkway, each with its own atmosphere.
FACILITIES
Grand Piano
For musicians, including pianists, composers and conductors, a grand piano is available at Maison Citadelle, where you can study, compose or prepare for a recital or concert in peace, space and privacy. The Estonia grand piano is in good condition. The acoustics in the house are very good, which makes the grand piano stand out well.
Garden
The garden of Maison Citadelle stands for peace and privacy and is nevertheless in contact with the outside world through the magnificent view. The delightful garden is colorful for 8 to 9 months a year, is spread over three levels and offers a view of the green surrounding mountains. Each terrace has its own atmosphere, temperature - of course depending on the season - and practical possibilities to enjoy the peace and sun.
You can pick herbs in the herb garden and use them in your own delicious dishes. In the kitchen you will find various culinary books for inspiration
Wifi, Image and Sound
In addition to Dutch television, the satellite receiver offers German, English and French channels. The audio equipment in the living room is connected to the internet and offers the possibility of receiving internet radio. You also have the option to play both CD's and DVD's. WiFi is available in Maison Citadelle.
Other facilities

The kitchen is located in the back house and separated from the front house, but at the same time gives a view of the living / sitting / lounge area. The open kitchen is fully equipped, including a built-in gas stove, coffee machine, microwave, oven, extractor, kettle, toaster, fridge / freezer and dishwasher. Tea towels, tablecloths, cleaning wipes etc. are available.
In the sleeping area, you will find a large double bed that is adjacent to the bathroom with bath, toilet and double sink. On arrival you will find the bedroom ready-made. Extra bed linen and towels are provided.
NB:
1. The washing machine and dryer are situated in the cave, at the entrance of the house. There is also an extra fridge and freezer available.
2. Maison Citadelle is not suitable for: disabled people and children.
3. Dogs in consultation.
4. There is a garage available for your car.
5. On the mezzanine, an exercise bike / bicycle is available.
6. In the immediate vicinity, a public tennis court is available. You can register for this.

Practically
SHOPS: In St. Ambroix, the closest major city, are all the necessary shops. There is a LiDL, an Intermarché and a Carrefour. You will also find small local shops and a large weekly Provencal market full of local products. In Gammal, just 4 kilometers away, you will find a supermarket that sells all necessities.
Culture
Maison Citadelle is located on the edge of the Cevennes National Park. This beautiful nature area offers the opportunity to make long and shorter walking and cycling trips. Discover dreamy villages and set off in the impressive nature with its many rivers and streams.

The region offers various options for hiking and cycling enthusiasts. There are hiking options with varying degrees of difficulty: from a leisurely walk to a ride on altitude for the sporty enthusiast. Cyclists can also enjoy themselves here.

In the surrounding area you can discover numerous beautiful cities in the Cevennes, Provence and Gard regions: Uzès, Montpellier, Avignon, Orange, Arles, Marseille, Nimes.

Vinology is fully present in the region. Enjoy both the delicious wines and the view of the many vineyards.

TRAVEL TIPS
If you come by car, there are several ways to reach Les Brousses. You can choose the route via Aubenas (Ardeche) or the Pont St. Esprit exit.
If you would like to buy fresh products on the way there, we recommend you take exit 19 (Bollène - on the route Du Soleil ), direction Bagnols-sur-Cèze, where you will arrive just before you enter Bagnols-sur-Cèze. You will find a permanent display of fresh (local) products during the summer months (such as fruit, honey, marmalades, cheese, eggs, fruit and vegetables, wines, etc).
If you come by plane, then Nimes, Montpellier, Marseille and possibly Lyon is an option. The travel distance from Nimes is the shortest (59km; 1.20 hours by car), Montpellier (75km), Marseille (125km; 2 hours by car) and from Lyon (180km; 3 hours by car). If you do not want to fly, the TGV is definitely a solution, it stops in Nimes. During the summer months, there is also a fast connection to Avignon. Both in Nimes and Avignon there is car rental at the station.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by the local manager who speaks Dutch, French, German and English. He will inform you about relevant matters concerning your stay and he will answer your questions.

WHASHING AND CLEANING
​
If you stay in Les Brousses for more than a week, you have the option to have the bed linen washed, in consultation with the maanager. This also applies to cleaning the house.
